    ​Nominations

    Hello coaches, 

    ​Please use the form below to make your nominations for both the 2018 All-State and All-Star players. Before submitting your response, be sure to carefully and completely read the information describing the differences between "All-State" and "All-Star", as well as the details of the entire nomination and selection process for each. We would like each coach to submit their response to this nomination survey within about 24 hours (6pm tomorrow, May 9th). ​

    The head coach of every team will automatically be nominated for Coach of the Year.
    ALL-STATE: These are players who in your opinion are among the top 14 high school players in the state of Indiana. Both girls and boys are equally eligible and coaches are encouraged to consider the following three categories when evaluating players:

    - Overall offensive and defensive abilities
    - Dedication to ultimate and leadership ability
    - Sportsmanship

    Coaches should only nominate players from their own team because those are the players you know best. You may have one, a few, or several players on your team that you feel are qualified to be nominated as an All-State player based on the information above. Players who are later, officially selected for All-State status will be recognized on USA Ultimate's website.

    All-Star: These are players who in your opinion should be invited to participate in the High School All-Star Showcase Game, hosted by the Indiana Ultimate Foundation and the Indianapolis Alleycats. The game will take place on Sunday, June 17th at Grand Park. Players should arrive by 2:30pm to begin warm ups, and will subsequently play a showcase game before the Alleycats play the Madison Radicals at 5:00pm. Participation in the game is free and includes an "All-Star" jersey in recognition of their achievements. 

    Both girls and boys are equally eligible and coaches are encouraged to consider the following three categories when evaluating players: 

    - Overall offensive and defensive abilities
    - Dedication to ultimate and leadership ability
    - Sportsmanship

    Coaches should only nominate players from their own team because those are the players you know best. All-Star nominations is limited to just three players per team and will be a representation of every team!

    Coach of the Year: The rostered head coach of every team will automatically be nominated for COTY voting. That voting will completed alongside All-State voting. COTY award winners are recognized on USA Ultimate's website.
    Nomination and Selection Process: This survey is only to collect nominations from the head coach of each of the twelve teams that participated in the 2018 Indiana High School State Championship. All-state nominations will then be compiled into a second survey with which one coach per term and two captains per team​ will make their final selections for All-State team one and All-State team two. At that time, the involved coach and captains from each team may select players for All-State regardless of whether or not they are from the same school, and based on the criteria listed above. The actual selection process is limited to one coach and two captains per team, so that teams of different sizes have equal representation in the voting process.

    All players who are nominated for All-Star are automatically approved and should plan to participate in the showcase game. Coaches should make an effort to confirm their All-Star players' availability to participate and verify their jersey sizes after nominating them. Coaches will receive a follow up email closer to the All-Star game to ensure three players from each team will indeed be attending. ​
