The first iteration of Indiana's Hoosier Homegrown (Fall) took place this past weekend at the beautiful fields of World Sports Park! Despite some teams having less fortune in terms of the scores, every team worked hard and improved, and several had a great first experience in a tournament, as they build teams for the spring.
We want to extend a special thank you to several of the Indianapolis Brickyard, Liquid Hustle, and Alleycat players who ran a clinic during the tournaments lunch break. Over forty players participated and improved on skills such as deep cutting, downfield defense, marking, and throwing.

6/22/2015 - Indiana Boys HS State Championship Recap
This past weekend ten teams from around the state converged in Noblesville to compete in the Indiana Boys HS State Championship! After some initial worry, from field cancellations due to weather, local organizer Al Geisler found a quality back up just in time for the tournament to proceed as planned and it was a great event!
Traditioned teams and up and comers alike worked hard through the 6-7 game weekend vying for their spot as number one in the state. Noblesville and Fishers fought hard in the semi finals on Sunday against Center Grove A and Lawrence, respectively, but did not make it into the final game, as each moved on to play each other for third. On field two, Noblesville finished out their weekend with a win over Fishers and third place finish. First year team Fishers, finished fourth - an impressive feat.
On field one, in perhaps the most anticipated, continuous, match up the year Lawrence HS and CG A battled for first place. In an intensely contested first four points the teams traded to 2-2, with neither team able to produce a turn against their opponent. After this innitial stalemate, CG A pulled ahead, taking half 7-2. The game, from beginning to end was harder fought than the score might suggest, as Center Grove A ended the finals to win 13-5. This is CG A's fifth straight title and their 6th out of the 9 in Indiana's history. And Lawrence HS finished in second, the highest finish in their programs history.
Additionally Warren Central HS, another first year program, brought home the spirit trophy which was awarded to them by their opponents for displaying great sportsmanship.
The final rankings of the tournament were:
1)Center Grove
2) Lawrence North
3) Noblesville
4) Fishers
5) Penn
6) Center Grove-Freshmen
7) Perry Meridian
8) Warren Central
9) Center Grove-B
10) Bloomington

3/11/15 - Community Involvement: Creating a Slogan
One of the things that makes the IUF great, is that it is ran by Ultimate lovers from our own community. And while some of the more intricate details are worked out by those donating the most time and on the board, there are some things we want to get input on from the entire community! We know you have good ideas.
Following our Disc Store sponsorship announcement we have decided to offer a limited line of IUF spirit wear. Spirit wear will be available through our website and also through give-aways at events we host and on social media. Items we may offer include everything from hats to t-shirts, hoodies to beer koozies, jackets to mini discs, and much more.
On this spirit wear we want a "motto" to go alongside our logo. Something that represents who we are in Indiana and that is special and relatable to our own Ultimate community. If you have ideas for a motto, let us know by commenting on our Facebook post! One of the best will be picked and have a permanent mark on the IUF and Indiana Ultimate, and just might win themselves some of the first items we have made!

2/22/15 - Indiana HS Indoor State Championship
This past weekend 14 different high schools converged (16 teams total) at The Gathering Place on the south side of Indianapolis. Between a north side league and a south side league, over a dozen schools participated in weekly games this winter. In the final weekend, with both leagues combined for a final tournament, there were many great games and a clear growth in the HS division around Indiana! Parents packed the stands all tournament long and more than one high school had their school newspaper filming or taking pictures.
Throughout the weekend several teams made impressive impacts on the field. Between their two evenly skilled teams, coached by Will Drumwright and Rick Gross of the Indianapolis Alleycats, first year team Fishers made sure they put their name out to the community. Notching a close loss against Center Grove A, and an amazing buzzer beating catch against Martinsville, they played fundamentally sound and are looking to compete with the best.
Bishop Chatard, returning into the HS ultimate scene after being away for several years is back and looking athletic. Despite losing records Warren Central and Franklin High School, both first year teams, showed that they have a will to play as well and were among the most sportsmanlike.
Carmel, Martinsville, New Pal, Decatur, and Perry all had moments of great play and leadership by returning players. Any of these teams with practice this spring could be looking to play deep into the outdoor state championship come June.
Ending the weekend was a hard fought game between returning champions Center Grove and Brebeuf. Brebeuf, lead by Drew Oakenfuss (Indiana INferno player) used his size to make huge plays in the air and on the mark. At the buzzer though, CG came away with the first place finish. Despite a few injured, non-playing seniors,CG brought the intensity when it was needed most, lead by a handful of remaining upperclassman and supported by young players eager to earn their place .
Final Standings:
1) Center Grove A (6-0)
2) Brebeuf (5-1)
3T) Carmel (4-1)
3T) Martinsville (3-2)
5T) Fishers 2 (3-2)
5T) New Pal (3-2)
5T) Cathedral (3-2)
5T) Decatur (2-3)
9T) Avon (2-2)
9T) Perry (2-2)
9T) Fishers 1 (1-3)
9T) Noblesville (1-3)
13T) Center Grove B (0-3)
13T) Warren Central (0-3)
13T) Franklin (0-3)
13T) Bishop Chatard (0-3)
Unable to attend were Jeffersonville HS, Bloomington HS, Lawrence HS, and Penn HS. Each of these schools are mainstays in the Indiana Ultimate community and we look forward to seeing more of them later in the year!
For a full list of active high school teams, head to the IUF's HS teams and rankings page.

11/24/2014 - IUF Announcement!
Exciting News For Ultimate In Indiana:
Most metropolitan Ultimate communities have non-profit organizations that help organize, coordinate, and foster the growth and development of Ultimate in their metropolitan areas. Indiana and Indianapolis has not had such an organization, other than recreation leagues being run by the Indy Ultimate Association and youth leagues and club being run by the Indiana Ultimate Association.
Many of Indiana’s Ultimate leadership have been discussing an effort to get everyone on the same page and headed in the same direction with all of Indiana’s Ultimate - from recreational leagues through high school, college and club. That has finally been accomplished!
The Indiana Ultimate Foundation (IUF) has been established as a non-profit organization whose mission is “to promote the growth and development of the sport of Ultimate, at all levels, in the state of Indiana.” A Board of Directors has been elected, Committees formed with Chairpersons selected and a Summit Planning Meeting was held last Sun. November 15th.
The Board and the Committees of the IUF will be working to support the existing leagues and clubs at each and every level of play, while also developing new programs for community outreach, camps for youth, coach and player clinics and hosting tournament events…just to name a few.
An announcement with more details of the organization, including a website where “everything Ultimate” in Indiana can be found, a request for volunteers on committees and much more will be made soon.
Ultimate is about to explode in Indiana!
