​IUF Ultimate Frisbee Leagues

League play, for many, is how Ultimate players first get involved with the sport of Ultimate. We offer everything from cheap, casual leagues for those wishing to be introduced to the sport and have fun to more expensive, experienced leagues for those seeking out extra training during their off season. Leagues typically run for 8-10 weeks and take place all around the Indianapolis area and beyond during each of the four seasons. Many also feature a wide range of age and skill. Below, you can find a list of all available leagues, as well as information on how to join.

Fall Leagues 

Indy Fall Indoor League - Adult League

Fall League is a team entry league that starts in October and runs 11 weeks ending just before Christmas. All levels of play are welcome, but this tends to be a fairly competitive league. Sports Zone has a turf field, so a variety of cleat types are appropriate. The turf field is large enough for 6v6 games. Games take place on Thursdays, are 60 minutes long, and start at 7, 8, and 9pm. Games are played at The Sport Zone located on the north west side of Indianapolis. Entering a team costs $1,100 and you are free to decide the number of players on your own team. There are 10 teams each year. Sports Zone has a bar adjacent to the fields for people to enjoy after the games.

Winter Leagues

South Side Indoor Ultimate - Youth League

The  South Side's Indoor Ultimate League will will be held Monday Tuesday & Wednesday, 4-5 pm at The Gathering place and include 4-5 Center Grove teams and 1-2 Southport team(s). Games are held at The Gathering Place. Each team participates in one game each week for eight weeks, beginning the first week of January. After the last week of games, the league ends with a tournament that combines each of the teams from this league, with the each of the teams in the North Side Youth League into one large tournament. 

The ending tournament is known as the Youth Indoor State Championship, and is a tournament that has occurred since 2009!

Indoor Ultimate - High School League

The  High School Indoor Ultimate League takes place once a week, on Monday from 4-6PM. All games are located at North an South side locations. 

In this league, 12 local high school teams enter, and then compete in round robin style play. Each team participates in one game each week for eight weeks, beginning the first week of January. After the last week of games, the league ends with a tournament that combines each of the teams from the league into one large tournament. 

The ending tournament is known as the Youth Indoor State Championship, and is a tournament that has occurred since 2009!

Indy Winter League - Adult League

Winter League is a draft league that starts in early January and runs 10-12 weeks into March. It is available for ages 18 and up. Big fields allow for 6 on 6 play. Sports Zone has field turf, so all types of cleats will work. Games are timed and approximately 50 minutes. Games take place on Thursdays, starting between 7 and 9pm. 10 teams participate in winter league each year. The cost is $90 per player. Sports Zone has a bar adjacent to the fields for people to enjoy after the games.

Bloomington Winter League - Adult

 Bloomington Ultimate runs a thriving winter league each year at the Twin Lakes Recreation Center in Bloomington, IN. The league boasts some of the longest games for an indoor league, with 40 minute halves and five minutes of warm-up and half time before and during each game. 

The league this year will run from January 7th through March 4th. Teams eliminated will be able to play out their rounds on the final week with 45 minute consolation games.

Summer Leagues

IUF Youth League (U20 & U17 Divisions)

Each division of the IUF youth summer leagues (U19 and U16) function in two parts. First, as a stand alone league that runs for eight weeks during the summer, teaching skills for approximately one hour, then separating into your predetermined league teams and playing one scheduled game per week. Secondly, the league functions as a tryout/pre-requisite event for all those youth players wishing to participate on either the IUF U20 boys & mixed or U17 boys youth club teams, which compete in the summer and end their season with the USA Ultimate Youth Club Championships, the largest youth event in the nation. Sign up as an individual, includes participation in all practices and games, and provides each player with a reversible tank jersey. Occasionally a cookout occurs, and should a player chose to continue playing youth club and makes a team, some of those expenses are built in to the league cost as well.

 Indy Summer League - Adult League

Indy Summer League takes place at World Sports Park in Indianapolis, IN. This league features 18 teams each year and approximately 300 players. The league cost is $65-90 per player to sign up as an individual depending on your age and membership status.

Indy Summer League is one of the founding ultimate communities in Indiana and began over 25 years ago. This league is an adult league and attracts players from all around the Indianapolis area.

Decatur Summer League

Entering high school players and older are welcome. We are entering our 7th year as a league and are still growing; twelve teams participated in 2014. Most players wear cleats but not all. It is a team entry league with a ten player minimum and a fourteen player limit, only costing about $10 per player. This league is a great league for beginners and experienced players alike!

Evansville Summer Ultimate League (ESoUL)

This league is open to any and all over the age of 14. We have many brand new players every year, as well as plenty of players who have been playing competitively for years. The focus is fun for all. Teams are drafted by a selection committee to ensure balanced play, though you can sign up as an individual or in groups up to five players 2016 will be the fourth season for ESoUL, which had 8 teams last year with over 100 participants. League play runs from June to July, with open pick up in May. The league fee covers 8 weeks of league play, a team jersey, and end of season tournament.

Spring Leagues

​Bloomington Spring League -
​(14+ All Experience Levels) 
​Bloomington Ultimate runs a semi-competitive spring league each year at Olcott Park in Bloomington, IN. The league starts with a practice session where new players can meet their teammates and captains run through some basic strategy, throwing drills and scrimmage with another league team and ends with a championship (1st vs 2nd) and chumpionship (3rd vs 4th) game.

The league this will run from April 4th through May 9th with May 16th and 23rd reserved as rain dates. Fields are also reserved for a practice on March 28th at Olcott Park. Games start at 7:00 PM and consists of two 50-minute halves with a 10 minute half-time. A league social usually takes place after the game at a local Bloomington business so the party can keep going and players can get to know each other. All experiences are welcome and anyone over the age of 14 is welcome to play, however, the league is limited to 36 male and 36 female positions.
